Funly — Terms of Use

Last updated 31 August 2026 · Connectz Digital Services

Funly shows you a small number of short, sourced facts each hour, and then it stops. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we ask of you.

1. Who provides Funly

Funly is published by Connectz Digital Services, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

2. What Funly is

Funly is a reading app. It shows a limited number of cards per hour and is designed to run out rather than continue indefinitely. That is the intended behaviour and not a fault.

3. Where the content comes from

Funly does not write anything. It is a collection of other people’s words, gathered and curated from material published elsewhere. Every card is quoted word for word from its source, names that source on the card, and carries a link to it — so you can always see where something came from and read the original.

Material is drawn from published sources around the world: reference works and encyclopaedias, public bodies and scientific agencies, museums, libraries and archives, open-access publications, and public-domain literature. At the time of writing these include Wikipedia (used under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licence), the United States National Weather Service and NASA (public domain), and public-domain books. That list is not fixed and is not exhaustive — sources are added over time, and whichever source a card came from is always named on the card itself.

We use only material that is in the public domain or published under a licence permitting reuse, and the credit and link stay attached to every card because that is normally the condition of such a licence.

We select passages; we do not rewrite them. The app refuses to publish a passage that is not found in its source exactly as written, so what you read is the source’s own wording — not a summary, a paraphrase, or anything composed by us or by a machine.

Accuracy is the source’s, not ours. We take reasonable care in choosing and filtering material, but we do not independently verify every statement, and we do not warrant that any card is accurate, complete or current. If you intend to rely on something, follow the link and check other sources for its authenticity — do not depend on this information alone.

4. Content standards, and what to do if we get it wrong

Funly aims to carry nothing distressing. Cards are chosen by a combination of automated screening, AI assistance and human review before anything is published. Screening is imperfect, and something unsuitable may occasionally still appear.

No card is written by AI. Every passage is quoted word for word from a named human source, and the app refuses to publish a passage that is not found in that source exactly as written. AI and people decide which passages appear; neither decides what they say.

4a. If a card should not be there, please tell us

Write to info@connectzz.com with the card’s title and, if you can, the source named on it. Three kinds of report matter especially:

  • Unsuitable content — anything distressing, offensive, or simply wrong for a light reading app.
  • Rights and licensingif material on a card is yours, or your organisation’s, and is not in the public domain or openly licensed, tell us. We will take it down, or approach you properly for permission — whichever you would prefer. You do not need to send a legal notice first; an email is enough.
  • A factual error — in particular where a card misrepresents the source it quotes.

What we will do. We aim to acknowledge within three working days. Where a report is well founded we remove the card from the published collection straight away, so it stops reaching new readers.

⚠️ One honest limitation. Funly downloads its cards and keeps them for up to a day, so a reader whose app has already downloaded a card may still see it until it next refreshes. If the card is built into the app itself, removal reaches readers with the next app update. We cannot reach into a device and delete something, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.

4b. A statement of intent

Funly is built to use only material that is in the public domain or published under a licence permitting reuse, and to carry the source’s name and a working link on every card. This is enforced in the software, not merely intended: the app refuses to publish a passage it cannot find in its source exactly as written.

Selection is partly automatic, and automatic selection can be wrong. If something has been included that should not have been, it is a mistake and not a tactic. We have no interest in using anyone’s work by manipulation, by evasion, or by quietly dropping the credit, and no interest in keeping material whose owner does not want it here. Faced with a reasonable objection we would rather remove something quickly than argue about it.

5. You are not asked for anything

Funly has no sign-up, no login, no forms and no text fields of any kind. There is nothing in the app to type into. You open it, read, and close it.

6. What we ask of you

  • Use Funly for personal, non-commercial reading.
  • Do not attempt to break, disassemble or interfere with the app or the files it downloads.
  • If you share a card, keep the source credit and link attached. That is a condition of the licence the text is used under, not merely a courtesy.
  • Do not republish the collection as a whole or present it as your own.

7. Your reading history

Funly records which cards you have read, on your device only, so it does not repeat them. This record is encrypted and is not backed up. Reinstalling the app or changing phone will clear it, and it cannot be recovered by us or by you. Please do not treat Funly as a place to keep anything you would mind losing.

8. Availability

We aim to keep Funly working and its content updated, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue the app or any part of it. Where a change materially reduces what the app does, we will give notice in the app or on this site where it is reasonable to do so.

9. Advertising and paid features

This version of Funly contains no advertising and no paid features. Both are planned, and the app says so before you ever encounter them — open Settings and you will find what is coming and what it is expected to cost, disclosed in advance rather than arriving in an update you did not expect.

  • Advertising will be non-personalised. Our advertising provider will receive your device’s advertising identifier in order to choose an advert. Nothing about what you read is shared with it.
  • A paid subscription is intended, so that readers who prefer no advertising can pay instead. It will be a subscription only — there is no one-off or lifetime purchase, and none is planned.

These terms and the Privacy Policy will be updated before either appears in the app, not afterwards.

The subscription will state its price, what it includes, its billing period, that it renews until you cancel it, and how to cancel — all before you are asked to pay. It is billed through the app store you installed from, and you cancel it there.

Prices may differ by country and may change for new subscribers. Any change affecting an existing subscription will be notified in advance, as the app store requires. No plan grants permanent access; access continues for as long as the subscription is active.

10. Intellectual property

The name Funly, its logo, its design and its software belong to Connectz Digital Services. The quoted passages belong to their respective sources and remain subject to their own licences, which is why the credit and link travel with every card.

11. Liability

Funly is provided on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of it, or from reliance on any statement in a card. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bhubaneswar, Odisha shall have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.
