Ok — Terms of Service

Version 1.2  |  Connectzz, India

Ok is not an emergency or safety service.

  • Ok is not a medical alert, panic button, or emergency response service.
  • Ok does not track anyone’s location, health, or movements.
  • A red or amber marker means only that the App has not been opened recently. It does not mean a person is unwell, in danger, or in need of help — and a green marker does not mean they are safe.
  • Notifications depend on phones, networks and app stores we do not control, and may be delayed or may not arrive at all. Never rely on Ok in an emergency. Call your local emergency services or the person directly.

What a marker means for your family is for your family to decide. We do not interpret it for you, and we never contact anyone on your behalf.

These terms are the agreement between you and us about your use of the Ok app.

The short version. Ok tells the people you choose that you are all right. Your Family list — you and up to four people — costs nothing under the current term. Two optional subscriptions add more people. If a subscription ends, those people stop receiving your check-ins and appear greyed on your screen — nothing is deleted, and paying again brings it all back exactly as it was.

1. Who these terms are with

Ok (“the App”) is operated by Connectzz (“we”, “us”, “our”), a proprietorship based in India. By installing or using the App you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. The term of this agreement

This agreement runs for a period of one year from the date you first accept it, and continues for further periods of one year unless it is ended under clause 13.

There is nothing for you to do. Renewal of this agreement is automatic and requires no action from you. The App will never ask you to renew, confirm, or re-register, and your account will never lapse because a year has passed.

This is the term of the agreement only. It is not a subscription and it does not commit you to paying anything. Subscriptions are a separate matter, are always monthly, and are described in clause 9.

3. What Ok is

Ok is a check-in app. Opening it tells the people in your Family list, by notification, that you opened it. Other lists are told only when you deliberately tap to tell them.

4. Your account

You choose a display name. That name is what the people you are connected with see. You are responsible for keeping your device and your invite codes secure, and for the accuracy of the name you choose. You must be 18 or over to use Ok. Ok is not for children. Please do not set up an account for anyone under 18, and do not connect one to yours. The App does not ask your age or check it — this is a condition of using Ok, not something the App enforces. If we are told that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete what is held for it.

5. Family — no charge

Every account includes a Family list of you and up to four other people. Under the current term this is provided at no charge, and we will not begin charging for it without telling you in the App first and obtaining your agreement. We will not charge you for anything without your agreement first.

  • Family holds four people. It is a fixed size — people cannot be moved into or out of it.
  • To free a place, remove someone using the ✕ beside their name.
  • Opening the App notifies everyone in your Family. There is no button and no way to open the App without telling them; that is the design.

6. Getting your circle back — free for everyone

If you lose your phone, replace it, or reset it, restoring the people you were connected with is free. It is not a feature of either subscription. This applies to every user, whether or not you have ever paid us anything, and — as with the Family list in clause 5 — we would not begin charging for it without telling you in the App first and obtaining your agreement.

  • Your phone’s own Google backup already keeps a copy of Ok’s data in your private Google Drive folder. That is run by Android, not by us, and we cannot see it. You can switch it off in your phone’s settings.
  • The surest route is the optional Google sign-in. Without it your account is anonymous — better for your privacy, but it leaves us nothing to match you to if the phone is gone.

Sign-in is not switched on yet. We are still setting it up. Until we finish, we will not restore an anonymous account if the phone is lost — we have no way to tell whose it is. Your phone’s own Google backup still applies in the meantime, and we would not begin charging for anything in this clause without telling you in the App first and obtaining your agreement.

7. Invited — optional subscription

Invited adds a shared pool of 30 places, which you arrange across three lists — Family Plus, Relatives and Friends. You may move people between these three lists at any time. These lists are never notified automatically: they hear from you only when you tap to tell them, either all at once or one person at a time.

8. Caregivers — optional subscription

Caregivers is a separate subscription for a household that has a nurse, helper or caregiver. It lets you add up to 5 caregivers of your own. Caregiver places are separate from the 30 Invited places and are not taken from them.

A caregiver never pays. Being added as someone’s caregiver costs nothing and needs no subscription at all. A caregiver can be added by up to 20 households, free, and their own Family list stays free as well. The subscription is bought by the household that wants a caregiver — never by the person doing the caring.

  • A caregiver connection is silent in both directions. Nobody is notified automatically.
  • A caregiver connection must be created by the household, using a caregiver invite code that the household generates and shares. A caregiver may tell someone about Ok, but cannot invite them as a caregiver. The household always initiates.
  • A caregiver’s own Family list remains their own, for their own family, and is unaffected.

9. Prices, renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play. Google is the seller of record. We do not see, receive, or store your card or payment details at any time.

SubscriptionIntroductory priceStandard price
Invited (India)₹30 / month for 3 months₹50 / month
Invited (other countries)$1 / month for 3 months$2 / month
Caregivers (India)₹40 / month for 3 months₹60 / month
Caregivers (other countries)$1.50 / month for 3 months$2.50 / month
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
  • The introductory price applies to the first three monthly billing periods. After that the standard price applies automatically. You are told both prices before you subscribe.
  • You can cancel at any time, in the Google Play Store under Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future charges; your subscription continues until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • Refunds are handled by Google Play under Google’s refund policy.
  • Prices may change in future. Existing subscribers are not moved to a new price without the notice period and consent that Google Play requires.
  • The two subscriptions are independent. Buying one does not give you the other.

10. If a subscription ends

If a subscription lapses or is cancelled, the places it provided stop working — but nothing is deleted.

  • Those people stop receiving anything from you, and you stop receiving from them.
  • They remain visible on your screen, by name, shown greyed, with a way to bring them back.
  • Subscribing again restores the connections exactly as they were.
  • Your Family list of four is never affected by any subscription ending.

11. Connecting with people

Every connection requires both people to agree. One person generates an invite code and shares it; the other enters it. Codes are single-use and expire 24 hours after they are created. Either person may remove the connection at any time, from their own phone, without the other’s permission.

12. What you agree not to do

  • Use the App to harass, monitor, coerce, or track another person, or to add someone who has not genuinely agreed to be added.
  • Present Ok to anyone as an emergency, medical, or safety service.
  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the App or to caregiver places.
  • Attempt to access another person’s account or data, or to interfere with the service.

13. Ending this agreement, and deleting your account

You may end this agreement at any time by deleting your account. There are two ways, they remove the same things, and neither leaves a copy behind.

Fastest — in the App

Open Ok and scroll to the bottom. Tap Delete my account, below “Share Ok with family”. You are shown exactly what is about to be removed and asked to confirm. Deletion happens immediately — nothing waits in a queue.

If you no longer have the App

Lost the phone, or already uninstalled? Write to info@connectzz.com and we will do what we can — but today that is limited, and we would rather tell you than let you assume otherwise.

Accounts are anonymous. We hold no email address, no phone number and no real name for you, so there is nothing tying an account to you and nothing we could check a request against. We will not delete an account on a claim we cannot verify, because the account we deleted might belong to someone else.

What works instead: ask the people you were connected to to remove you from their lists. Each can do it from their own phone, it takes effect on both sides, and it takes you off their screens.

This will change once Google sign-in is switched on. After that, writing from the address you signed in with will let us find your account and delete it — as soon as we can, and never longer than 30 days. Sign-in is not available yet, so that route is not open to anyone today.

We keep no copy of our own — no archive, nothing held back. Our infrastructure provider may hold routine technical backups of its systems for a short period before they are overwritten in the normal course; we cannot read those and they are not ours to keep. Anyone who had you in their list simply stops seeing you.

This cannot be undone. If you install Ok again afterwards you start from nothing, and the people you were connected to will need to invite you again.

Uninstalling the App is not the same as deleting your account. Uninstalling removes the App from your phone; what we hold stays until you use one of the two routes above.

If you have a paid subscription when your account ends, it stops renewing. Because Google is the seller, anything already paid for is dealt with under Google Play’s refund policy, and you can raise it with Google directly.

We may suspend or end an account that breaches clause 12, or where we are required to by law. If we discontinue the App entirely, we will give reasonable notice beforehand.

14. Availability

We work to keep Ok running and to get every notification through, but we cannot promise that the App will always be available, or that any particular notification will arrive, or arrive on time. Whether a notification reaches someone depends on their phone, its settings, their network, and services run by other companies — none of which we control. That is exactly why the notice at the top of these terms asks you never to rely on Ok in an emergency. To the extent the law allows, the App is provided as it is, and our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before a claim.

What we can never limit. That limit does not cover everything, and the law would not let it. It does not apply to:

  • someone dying or being hurt because we were careless;
  • us being dishonest with you, or misleading you on purpose;
  • anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

And if the law where you live gives you a right that you cannot sign away, you keep that right, whatever these terms say.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, the version number at the top changes, and the current version is always available in the App and on our website. You are asked to accept the terms before you use Ok, and we record which version you accepted. If either document changes in a way that matters, you are asked again the next time you open the App.

We do not begin charging for anything you currently receive at no charge without telling you first and obtaining your agreement.

16. Privacy

What we hold about you, and what we do not, is set out in the Ok Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement. In short: Ok keeps the name you chose, when you last opened it, who you are connected with, the language you read it in, and whether your account holds a subscription. It does not know where you are, does not read your contacts, messages or photos, shows no advertising, and sells nothing about you to anybody. When you buy a subscription, Google handles the payment — we never see your card or bank details.

17. General

  • If we transfer the App. We may transfer these terms, and our rights and obligations under them, to whoever takes over the App — for example if the developer account or the business moves. Your rights are not reduced by such a transfer, and we will tell you in the App if it happens. You cannot transfer your account to someone else.
  • If part of this fails. If any clause turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of these terms continue to apply. A clause that is too broad is to be read as narrowly as necessary to make it valid, rather than struck out entirely.
  • Things outside our control. We are not responsible for failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control — network or power failures, the acts of app stores or notification providers, natural events, or government action.
  • The whole agreement. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about Ok, and replace anything said beforehand.
  • Only you and us. Only you and we can enforce these terms. Nobody else acquires rights under them — including the people you are connected with.
  • If we do not enforce something. If we do not act on a breach straight away, that does not mean we have given up the right to act on it later.

18. Language

Ok itself can be used in English, Hindi, Odia and Telugu. These terms and the Privacy Policy are published in English only, and the English version is the one you agree to. We do not publish them in other languages: a term translated loosely can change what an agreement means, and we would rather one clear version than several that differ.

If you are not sure what any term here means, write to us at info@connectzz.com and we will explain it.

19. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. Nothing here removes any right you have under the consumer law of your own country that cannot be given up by agreement.
